Review record / 4 November 2026
What was checked.
What remains open.
A transparent record for an independent reviewer. This is not housing-law approval or a claim of certified accessibility conformance.
Publisher and scope
Published by an independent activist and member of Your Party as a personal project. No official party or union endorsement is claimed. This first release has eight main pages, local tools and no case intake.
Source review completed
- Rechecked the current HMCTS application route, fees, scope and effective-date guidance.
- Rechecked the official tenant rent-increase guide and Form 4A notes, including the distinction between 52 and 53 weeks. The tool no longer treats a calendar anniversary as a timing pass.
- Rechecked the registration rollout and the announcement of future Valuation Office decisions. Current applications still go to the tribunal.
- Kept older affordability data explicitly historical. Unreconciled tribunal outcome totals remain withheld.
Technical review
All 17 dependency-free tests pass. Browser checks confirmed keyboard submission, focus movement to results and the skip link’s focus target. Tests cover date validity, blank answers, legal-regime branching, deadlines, scope, source consistency and links. Additional tests cover frequency boundaries, inaccessible browser storage and print cleanup. Automated checks are supporting evidence, not a substitute for observing real assistive technology.
Accessibility work
Labelled controls, associated hints, keyboard focus, a skip link, accessible menu disclosure, responsive layouts, high-contrast text and print styles are implemented. Print colours now reset in dark theme and checklist print mode resets after printing.
Still requiring independent review
- A housing-law adviser should examine the route, service assumptions, transitional cases and any case-specific implications. The tool cannot determine validity.
- Native phone browsers, real screen readers, actual paper output and full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance have not been independently verified.
- There is no direct corrections email or guaranteed casework service. If the publisher shared this guide with you, use that channel to raise a correction without sending private documents.
- The draft rent policy is uncosted and remains a proposal for debate. Study findings are not predictions of its effects.
Suggested independent review
Try the tool around month ends, leap years, the reform boundary, past start dates and uncertain housing. Check the public claims against their linked sources, and test with your own browser and assistive technology. Record findings by page, quoted text, expected behaviour and source.
